Clara Peeters silk scarf

Silk. 54 x 54 cm. Manufactured by Jim Thompson Silk Company.

In her Table with a Cloth, Salt Cellar, gilt Tazza, Pie, Jug, Porcelain Dish with Olives, and Roast Fowl (ca. 1611), Clara Peeters used a number of earthenware pieces to give the still life a cosmopolitan appearance. This is the case of the German-made jug whose decorative pattern is reproduced in this exquisite silk handkerchief. Dry clean only.
