The Infanta Margarita of Austria is the absolute protagonist of Las Meninas (1656), a painting in which Velázquez masterfully immortalised the family life of Philip IV. The silhouette of the young princess, dressed in a panniered skirt, has become an icon and is the motif of this original pendant, designed exclusively for the Museo del Prado.
