Exhibition catalogue published on the occasion of the "The Sleeping Beauty. Victorian Painting from The Museo de Arte de Ponce" exhibition which ran from 24 February to 31 May 29 at the Museo Nacional del Prado and offered a carefully chosen selection of 17 English paintings loaned by the Museo de Arte de Ponce. This catalogue studies paintings and drawings by artists such as John Everett Millais, Dante Gabriel Rosetti, Edward Coley Burne-Jones, Thomas Seddon and William Holman Hunt, which were made during different phases of the movement known as the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and key works of the Victorian painting such as "Flaming June" by Frederic Leighton and Burne-Jones' masterpiece "The Last Sleep of Arthur in Avalon". The volume also includes profusely illustrated entries on each of the works exhibited, biographies of the artists represented, as well as essays by Cheryl Hartup, Richard Aste y Heather Birchall.
