"Patinir" exhibition catalogue (Spanish, hardbound)

Exhibition catalogue published on the occasion of the "Patinir" exhibition which ran from 2 July - 7 October 2007 at the Museo Nacional del Prado. The exhibition focused on Joachim Patinir, who worked in Antwerp from 1515 until 1524 and was the first European painter who specialized in landscape painting. The catalogue, in which a number of international experts contribute, includes seven essays in which the methods and meanings of the artist's works are analized and a catalogue raissoné of the 29 works by the artist. The volume also includes two appendices that reproduces all the documents referring to Patinir prior to 1700 as well as a study of the chronology of his output. The edition of the catalogue was coordinated by Alejandro Vergara, curator of the exhibition and Chief Curator of Flemish Painting at the Museo Nacional del Prado and contain essays by the following international specialists: Maximiliam P.J. Martens, Reindert L. Falkenburg, Dan Ewing, Catherine Reynolds, Thomas Kren and Stefaan Hautekeete.
